Hi, I’m John, your Portrait photographer.

Premier Business Portrait Photographer | London & Suffolk

I've spent 30 years of my career producing high-end editorial lifestyle and portraiture for national newspapers and magazines. From Bowie and Beyoncé to Prince, Pink, Michael Jackson, and the Spice Girls, plus many others, I've been privileged to have travelled around the globe with my cameras, and now bring this expertise and knowledge home to East Anglia & London.

Professional Business Headshots That Get You Noticed

Whether you’re stepping onto centre stage for the first time or whether you've already been making your mark in your particular business world, your headshot is your calling card. It speaks before you do. It opens doors, gets you seen, and can be the difference between you landing that meeting or being overlooked.

What to Expect When You Work With Me

My headshot sessions take place either in my central Ipswich photography studio — a short walk from the main car parks and bus stations.

Alternatively, I offer carefully crafted packages designed to meet the expectations of most business professionals, where I travel to your location for a pre-arranged shoot. If you have something more specific in mind, I’m happy to build a bespoke package tailored to your needs and vision.

This is not a random discount.

These sessions are batched and tightly scheduled, which means I can offer the same finish at a lower rate.

This is our process:

Personal branding portrait of nutritionist Catherine Arnold in Shotley, Suffolk.

I. Book the date.

First, we get to know each other on our free 20-minute call.

We discuss your needs to plan your shoot day and what you'll need on the day.

• Book during February

• Shoot anytime from February to August.

• £150.00 deposit secures your slot.

• Balance due 48 hours before your session.

Busy now. Smart later. You don’t have to choose.

II. What you get.

Next, we spend 90 minutes on your shoot day in the studio or at a location that suits you and your business. You'll have two strong outfit changes to choose from. You can also bring a makeup artist, or I can have one on site if required.

III. Deliver your photos.

You can see a selection of the images straight after your shoot, but I prefer to send all my clients a digital portfolio so they can choose their favourites at their own pace.  Once you have selected your favourites, I will retouch them, and once your payment has been made, your photos will be ready to download via your digital portfolio.

I can also be on hand to help with the selection if you so wish.

FAQ's

How do I pay and what secures the booking?

To secure your February slot, a £150 deposit is required at the time of booking, with the remaining balance due 48 hours before your shoot, or if you’d prefer to spread it, you can choose the simple 2-month plan at £450 per month, for a total of £900, with your session booked once the first payment is made. The payment plan total is £900 to cover admin and flexibility; pay-in-full remains £850.

What should I wear?

You should bring 2 strong outfits, ones that you're most comfortable in. One safe, one slightly bolder. Think clean lines, solid colours, and layers. Avoid tiny patterns and big logos; they distract and date quickly. If you’re unsure, send me quick phone snaps of your options the day before, and I’ll tell you what will photograph best, no fashion theatre.

I hate having my photo taken, can you still get good images?

Yes, and you’re not alone with this one. Most of my clients feel awkward at the start, even the confident ones. My job is direction, not luck. I’ll guide you through posture, hands, expression, and micro-adjustments so you don’t have to perform. Within 10 minutes, you’ll stop thinking about the camera and start looking like yourself, on a good day.

Where is the shoot and what about parking?

You can choose a number of Car Parks near my studio in Ipswich. If you come to the studio, I’ll send simple parking notes with your booking confirmation so you’re not circling the block like it’s a Saturday at IKEA. If we shoot at your office or a new location, we’ll pick a few clean spots with good light and minimal clutter, then work fast.

How quickly will I get my photos?

You’ll receive a proof gallery within 2 working days to choose your favourites. Final retouched images are delivered within 5 working days after you’ve made your selections. If you’ve got a deadline for a talk, press feature, or website launch, let me know upfront, and I’ll plan it all properly for you.

Can I use the images for LinkedIn, my website, and marketing?

Yes. Your images are supplied for LinkedIn, websites, press, speaker bios, and business marketing as standard. If you need wider commercial usage for major ad campaigns or third-party brands, just tell me, and I’ll quote it clearly. No surprises, no fine-print nonsense.

Can I bring a colleague?

Yes, you can, and it often makes the whole thing easier.

If you’re both taking part in the February offer, we can photograph you back-to-back in the same session, either in the studio or at your workplace. Allow an extra 30 to 45 minutes so nobody feels rushed, and so we can get a few options that look genuinely confident, not hurried.

If your colleague is just coming for moral support, that’s fine too, as long as they’re not directing from the sidelines. One calm voice in the room, mine, that’s how we get strong portraits fast.

Rescheduling and cancellations

Life happens. If you need to reschedule, you can move your session once with at least 72 hours’ notice, and your £150 deposit transfers to a new date within 30 days, subject to availability.

If you give less than 72 hours’ notice, the deposit is non-transferable because that slot is almost impossible to refill at short notice.

If you need to cancel entirely, the deposit is non-refundable. If you cancel with 7 days’ notice or more, I’ll offer the option to convert it into studio credit to use within 60 days.

If you’re unwell on the day, tell me as early as you can. I’d rather move the shoot than photograph you looking like you’ve been dragged through February.

I wish I had come to John years ago; his photography is outstanding! I'm so amazed with my new set of photographs.

(Richard Bradley - Business Consultant)

I had my branding photos taken by John last year, and I’m still using them everywhere. The set was strong, varied, and actually felt like me, not a performance. Since then, I’ve shown up online with far more confidence, and my website, LinkedIn, and promo materials look properly professional. If you need marketing and publicity images that work hard, John’s your man.”
