No awkward posing
You don’t need to know anything about posing, that’s my job. Most families arrive slightly unsure of what to do with their hands, where to stand, or how the children will behave. Within a few minutes that worry disappears. I guide you gently the whole time, offering small prompts and simple direction so everything feels natural rather than staged.
My approach is relaxed and observational. We talk, we move around a little, the children do what children always do, and I quietly shape the moments as they unfold. Nothing forced, nothing awkward, just a calm, stress-free experience that results in photographs that actually feel like your family.
30 mins Photo Sessions &
Pricing information
We will aim to produce as many variations and combinations of shots from your 30-minute sessions as possible, from single shots to couples and group shots. So come prepared, wearing solid colour tops, either white or black, which look best; check the gallery.
I will then send you a digital online portfolio of your shoot for you to choose your favourites. You only pay for the ones you like.

I've been a professional photographer for over thirty-five years, working in Editorial, commercial, and documentary photography.
I specialise in Branding and portraiture photography.
I'm based in central Ipswich, Suffolk, and I'm pleased to now offer my Black & White Fine Art portrait sessions to those who have been waiting for an opportunity to acquire a set of family photographs at an affordable price and which won't take up too much of your time.

Is there parking at the hotel?
Yes, there's good parking at the Novotel Hotel in Ipswich, but it's still on a first-come basis. There are several other car parks nearby if the hotel's car park is full.
What should we wear for our photo shoot with you?
You should wear what feels most comfortable for all of you. If the kids want to wear their favourite T-shirt, dress, or outfit, that's fine. What looks great is when you're all in one uniform colour, e.g., a solid black, white, or blue top. This is not a deal-breaker, just my suggestion. The backdrops will be white or black, or we can alternate between the two if we have time. And remember, these are all shot in black & white.
When will we be able to see the finished images?
Once your shoot is over, someone will confirm your details. We will then send you a private digital file portfolio, where you can store and choose your favourite photos from your shoot. The minimum purchase order package is 8 images at £200.
You will be able to purchase additional images at £25 each.
You can, of course, purchase the full set of 30 or more images for £400, saving over £300!

We have known John for some time, so it made sense for me to call on him when I wanted a set of images of Ashia and me. He produced a lovely set of photographs, which I'll cheris for ever, they look so beautiful.
